COVID FAQ

At Perinatal Specialists of Kansas City, our top priority is always your health, safety, and well-being. We appreciate your flexibility as we navigate the pandemic together. Below are some of our FAQs about our COVID-19 policy. If you want to learn more about how COVID-19 may impact pregnancy, you can read our blog post here.

Does your office allow visitors?
Our office allows ONE ADULT GUEST OVER THE AGE OF 18 for all office visits, ultrasounds, and office procedures. You and your guest must remain masked and must have their temperature taken upon arrival. Our goal is to limit your exposure to other patients by maintaining social distancing in our waiting rooms. All guests are asked to wait in their car until you have entered the ultrasound room. We will alert your guest when they may enter for your appointment.

Am I required to wear a mask?
Starting September 1st, 2022, masks are no longer required but are optional for both patients and visitors.

What happens if I am showing signs of COVID-19?
If you have respiratory symptoms, fever or GI symptoms concerning for COVID 19, please call our office to reschedule your appointment.

What happens if I test positive for COVID-19?
If you have tested positive for COVID-19 or have been exposed to COVID-19 within 14 days of your appointment, please call our office to reschedule your appointment.

I am receiving antenatal testing and have COVID-19 and/or symptoms. What should I do?
If you are receiving antenatal testing and test positive for COVID-19, please alert our office as soon as possible so we can make accommodations for your care. Growth ultrasounds, cervical lengths, and anatomy scans will be rescheduled until your quarantine period has passed.

Does your office offer telehealth?
We offer diabetic education, weight loss counseling, and preconception counseling via telemedicine. Depending on the insurance, this may or may not be covered. Please contact our office for further details.
