In addition to checking your baby’s heartbeat and rate, fetal dopplers can also identify issues with placental blood flow as it passes through the umbilical cord and to your baby’s heart and brain. Fetal dopplers of the umbilical artery, ductus venosus, and middle cerebral artery can help diagnose fetal conditions that require treatment before or after birth.
